"Triathlons have enriched my life since the first time I saw one on TV, in the fall of 1998. My thoughts as I watched were: "That's doesn't look so hard. I'm going to do one in the spring." Life has taken a turn for the better with that momentous decision. Since then I have completed numerous triathlons and met and made many good friends. I have also broadened my understanding of the sport by adding a more supportive role in becoming a certified triathlon coach. I hope to continue training, participating, and coaching for many more years, and sharing my enthusiasm with others for this wonderful sport."

Tim Bourrie
Tim enjoys racing and wants everyone else to enjoy it also. He has completed 4 Ironman with personal best of 10:20. In the early years of the club Tim was the guy to beat but as of late the new crop of athletes have over taken him, way to go Brent. It’s a testament to what a club can do to encourage people to, Go for it!As Tim would say.
Tim has a background in competitive swimming, and has also completed numerous long course triathlons, cycling races, distance running, and x-country ski events. Racing style?
Tim volunteers at a number of sporting events. Organizing the swim legs of the Huronia Tri, Chief of Course 2009-2010 OFSSA Nordic championships, Nordic Coach for the Mt. View snow dogs, Money collector @ the Mt. View Mt. Bike O-cup 2009. Where ever there is a need for some hands on work he is there.
He enjoys coaching the swim along with Sherrie. Making it his personal purpose in life to rid the world of duathletes.
Gord Keen
Our newest IRONMAN!!! Gord is the clubs professional 'tri parent,' laying claim to some of the fastest junior boys in Ontario. He is also the guy to ask if you have equipment questions...he knows his cycling gear. A long time triathlete, Gord made a move to long distance racing, completing Ironman Florida in November 2006. Gord is always quick to volunteer his time, having spent many years helping to organize the Midland Triathlon, and even serving on the board of directors last year. This summer he was also part of the organizing team for the EagerWheels weekly time trial series.
He is a fixture on the provincial triathlon scene, and is often seen directing traffic at the the triathlons while his sons race. He encourages everyone to go fast on the bike, but as for going fast in a car? That's another story...right, Officer Keen?
Doug Parker
After a stellar performance at Ironman Florida on November 4th, we can happily proclaim "Doug Parker...You are an IRONMAN!"
Doug's involvement in triathlon is a by-product of his wife's frequent disappearances. You see, five years ago his wife Irene would mysteriously disappear a few nights a week for this weird thing called "triathlon club." As she got more addicted to the club, these disappearances became more frequent. There was no stopping her, so Doug figured the only was he would be able to see his wife was if he joined the club too. The rest is history, because that started off a chain reaction that began with tri-a-tri's and ended this November with a finish at Ironman Florida.
Doug, along with his wive Irene, form the infamous duo known as the "Party Parkers" - convenors of the Tri Club Social Series, and strong supporters of all club activities. They're great ambassadors of the healthy lifestyle that triathlon encourages, participating in triathlons, bike races and running events. They're a model for all new members, showing what you can achieve with a little (ok, a lot) of training. Doug is a proud supporter of the Midland Triathlon, having been in charge of the transition area for the past few years.
Irene Parker
After a stellar performance at Ironman Florida on November 4th, we can happily proclaim "Irene Parker...You are an IRONMAN!"
Irene has been with us from the start, being an original member of the Tri Club when it formed 5 seasons ago. She started the sport back then with 'Tri-a-Tri', and pushed the distances each year until ultimately reaching the Ironman distance this year. She has completed numerous races, with podium finishes in her age group and recently completely her first Ironman Florida. Irene has also completed various marathons, 1/2 marathons, ski marathons, and trail races - she does it all, and loves every minute of it.
Her real love is the social aspect of the club, in fact defines the Midland Tri Club as "a social club with a training problem." Irene is a committee member of the Midland Triathlon and willing to volunteer in any aspect needed. She is a mother to three active adult children, and a training partner with husband Doug. Its a lifestyle that she loves being in, achieving what many believe is the impossible.

Carol has taken several Running Room Clinics and most recently completed the Toronto Marathon. Her certifications include Fitness Instructor Specialist, Nutrition and Wellness Certificate and Coaching Level 1.
Josh Mace
Josh is a long time ski racer and mountain biker, who's wife dragged him over to the road side of things 4 years ago. He bought a road bike, raced the EagerWheels time trials that first year, and was hooked! Road riding eventually led to triathlon, and he marked his entry into the sport by completing Ironman Lake Placid in July. He knows his way around a bike, having spent a few summers wrenching bikes in university.Race wheels, dirty chains, cable changes...it's all fun stuff.
Josh holds a level 4 national coaching certification, having spent the last 17 years as a coach, and serves as an examiner for the National Coaching Certification Program. His job sees him travel the world with his athletes, leaving Midland each summer to find snow in Europe or South America. Like his wife Nicole, Josh is also a certified Kinesiologist, and like many of our coaches, he has spent the last four years helping out with the Midland Triathlon, having served on the Board of Directors.
Sherrie Fournier
Sherrie is our newst addition to the Midland coaching team. Sherrie has been a long time club member, who has certainly put her time in. She enjoys long distance events and proudly completed her first ironman in Lake Place in 2007. Along with triathlon training, Sherrie enjoys hitting the trails with some mountain biking, her new passion!
Join Sherrie for some running good times and biking classes that include alot of sweating...
