The Midland Triathlon Club is an organized club dedicated to the pursuit of triathlon, general physical fitness, and the representation of the sport of triathlon within the community. We offer support to people who participate in the sport of triathlon, and we work to increase the variety of racing and training options in the Midland area. The club welcomes people of all levels of interest, experience, and ability in multi-sport.
If that all sounds very technical, think of it this way - we're an easy-going group of friends who enjoy triathlon, the healthy lifestyle that comes with it, and of course each others company - we swim, bike and run together, and cheer on our teammates wherever they may be racing or training. The Club includes triathletes ranging in experience from absolute beginners to veterans with many years triathlon and multi-sport experience...from people who are just in it for the training, to those who like to “dabble” in one or two triathlons a year, to hardcore athletes who race practically every weekend in the summer. Midland Triathlon Club members have raced in events ranging from local sprint (short distance) races to international Ironman events. The Midland Triathlon Club welcomes people of all levels of interest, experience, and ability in our sport into the club.
Of course it would be no fun if all we did was train, so we can't forget about the social aspect...it's an important aspect of the club. As long time member Irene Parker puts it..."we're the social club with a training problem!"
